#030: Be Prepared! Self-Advocacy Skills and Transition IEP's Help Your Child's Future - Part 1
Show Notes

Being a good self-advocate has big benefits for children and adults, especially for those who  think and learn differently. Individuals who know how to self-advocate are more likely to do well in school, work, and life. They often feel confident in what they're learning and doing, and feel a sense of empowerment to better decisions about life, which creates independence. The skill of self-advocacy is also very important to consider when preparing for your child's transition from high school to the post-secondary world. If your child has an Individual Education Plan (IEP), transition plans are very critical in bridging the gap. Know what you need to do to prepare and what agencies can assist in this transition. Don't be in the dark. Listen now to Part 1 of this two-part series to find out what you need to know and consider in the process!
